Casas Bonita is located on the peaceful west side of Playa Sámara, approximately 800 metres or a 10-minute walk from the beach and a 5- to 7-minute walk from the town centre. A French bakery, grocery stores, cafés and restaurants are all within easy walking distance.
Enjoy the relaxed rhythm of Sámara while staying in a quiet tropical garden close to everything you need. For everyday activities, a car is not necessary.

How To Get To Sámara
The closest airport is San José International (SJO).
From there, you can take a bus, a taxi or rent a car. It's better to book a flight that arrive in San Jose early afternoon or morning if you want to take a bus.
By Bus
The most economical way to go to Casa Bonita is to take a bus from San José. The company offering a daily bus service is called Empressa Alfaro Ltda. Departure time: 12:00pm and 17pm, arrives in Samara in about 4h30 (it can takes up to 6 hours long, depending on the traffic). A bus will take you to San Jose in 30 minutes, but it's probably better to use a taxi from the airport to the bus station.
By Private Transfer or Shuttle
Private transfers and shared shuttles are available from both Guanacaste Airport (LIR) and San José International Airport (SJO). Travel times and prices vary depending on the provider, season and traffic. Please book directly with a licensed transfer company and confirm the current price in advance.
By Car
Rental cars are available at both international airports. From Guanacaste Airport, the usual route leads through Nicoya to Sámara. A car is useful if you want to explore the surrounding region, but it is not necessary for everyday activities during your stay at Casas Bonita.
Getting Around – No Car Needed
Everything you need for everyday activities is within easy walking distance:
• Playa Sámara: approximately 800 metres or a 10-minute walk
• Sámara town centre: approximately a 5- to 7-minute walk
• French bakery, grocery stores, cafés and restaurants: approximately a 3-minute walk
• Intercultura Costa Rica Spanish School: approximately 850 metres or a 10-minute walk
• Bike, motorbike and quad rentals are available nearby
A car is not necessary for everyday activities. If you would like to explore the surrounding beaches and countryside, you can rent a bike, motorbike, quad or car in Sámara. Local tour operators also offer excursions throughout Guanacaste.
